Who sells Specula.
Specula is made by Michał Florczak (“we”). It is sold by Dodo Payments, our reseller and Merchant of Record: you buy Specula from Dodo Payments, which takes your payment, charges taxes where they apply, and sends your receipt and license key. Dodo's Buyer Terms cover the purchase itself. These terms cover the license to use Specula, which we grant to you.
What you buy.
A one-time purchase of $5, plus VAT or sales tax where it applies. There is no subscription, nothing renews and you are never charged again.
It gets you a license to use Specula on one Mac that never expires, with free updates for one year from the day you buy it, installed from inside the app. When the year is over, the version you have keeps working; updates released after that may be sold separately.
Your license key.
Dodo Payments emails you a license key after you pay. Specula needs an activated key to work — there is no trial — and activating takes an internet connection. One key is active on one Mac at a time.
The license is yours and isn't transferable, with one exception: you can move it to another Mac. Choose Settings → License → Deactivate This Mac on the old one, then activate the key on the new one. Please don't share, publish or resell your key.
Specula checks the license with Dodo Payments when it starts and about once a week. If it can't reach Dodo, it keeps working for 30 days after the last successful check. The privacy policy says exactly what those checks send.
Refunds.
You can get a full refund within 14 days of your purchase, no questions asked; the refund policy explains how. A refund disables your license key, and Specula stops working on the Mac where it was activated.
Using Specula.
Specula measures your disk and only removes what you choose, offering the Trash first. Still, you decide what to delete, so keep backups of anything that matters.
Please don't work around the license check, and don't distribute modified copies of Specula.
No warranty.
Specula is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind, as far as the law allows. To the same extent, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential damages, including lost data, and our total liability is limited to what you paid for Specula.
Nothing in these terms limits the rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country.
Changes and questions.
If these terms change, this page changes first, with a new date at the top. Changes never take away what you already bought.
